What is Challenge For Change?

Challenge for Change is a programme designed to make a positive difference in the lives of tamariki and their whanau. This is achieved by providing a mentor for the young person who journeys alongside them and build a strong and affirming relationship.
Support is also provided for the family through a whanau programme that allows them to get involved on the journey too.

Testimonials

Picture
As a mentor I have really enjoyed spending time with my young person doing things I loved as a kid. Bike riding, hiking, going to the beach and movies. Through this time, we have become good mates. It’s not just rewarding for the kids but the mentors as well.

The parenting course has been a real eye opener for me. It has made me look inwards at my parenting skills that I’d taken for granted.
I think this course would help anyone young or old to brush up on their skills and it helps you to see what will help your family.

I’ve found it really good because you get to do great stuff with your mentor, and when you’re
in the group you get to do things that you maybe wouldn’t get to do with your
parents.
I had anger issues, but now I don’t. My mentor has allowed me to focus on what really needs to happen if I feel angry.
